Privacy Policy
This policy explains what Klic (“the app”) collects, why, and what you can do about it. The app is operated by Dmytro Ostapchenko.
No account
The app has no sign-in and no user account. You do not give us an email address, a name, or any other identifying detail to use it.
Your notes stay on your device
The text of your notes, their colour, their position on the board, and the history of deleted notes are stored on your device, in a container shared with the app’s widget so that the widget can display them. Nothing in a note is uploaded to us, and there is no syncing server.
If your device backs itself up to iCloud or to a computer, that backup includes the app’s data, under the terms of whichever backup you use.
What we do collect: usage analytics
The app sends product analytics to OpenPanel, an analytics tool we host ourselves on our own server. Events cover things like the app being opened or backgrounded, and notes being created, deleted, restored, recoloured, moved, resized, copied, edited, or pinned, along with settings, history, export, and import actions.
Each event carries the app version and build, the iOS version, the device model, and structural details of the note involved — its colour index, position, and size — plus counters such as how many notes are on the board.
The text of your notes is never collected or transmitted.
Events are tied to a random identifier generated on first launch and stored on the device. It is not your Apple ID, your advertising identifier, or your device serial number. Deleting the app deletes it.
We do not collect your contacts, location, photos, browsing history, or advertising identifiers, and the app contains no third-party advertising or tracking SDKs.
Live Activities
Pinning a red note hands its text to iOS so it can be shown on your Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island. That happens entirely on your device, through the system, with no push server involved.
Export and import
Export writes your notes and deleted-note history to a file, and you decide where that file goes. Import reads a file you choose. Neither passes through us.
Third parties
- OpenPanel, self-hosted. Receives the analytics events described above, on a server run by the operator. No third-party analytics provider is involved.
- Apple. Handles app distribution and, if you use them, Live Activities and iCloud device backups, under Apple’s own terms.
Where the analytics data is stored
On a private server located in the European Union. Access is limited to the operator.
How long we keep it
Analytics events are kept while they are useful for understanding how the app is used. Your notes are not kept by us at all — they are on your device, and deleting the app deletes them.
Your choices
- Delete your notes. Delete individual notes in the app, clear the deleted-notes history in settings, or delete the app to remove everything it stored.
- Export your data. Settings can write your notes and history to a file you keep yourself.
- Request a copy or a deletion of analytics data. Email us and we will respond within 30 days.
Children
The app is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that affects what we collect or how we use it, we will update the date at the top of this page.
